There have been plenty of football managers from every generation that has left behind a legacy. From Brain Clough to Pep Guardiola, there are endless managers that can be in the conversation for the greatest of all time. In today's game, one manager that continues to put his name in the conversation is Carlo Ancelotti. Yesterday, the Real Madrid boss set another record becoming the winningest manager in Champions League history passing Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson. That then sparked the conversation for today's show, is Ancelotti the greatest football manager of all time?

Also on today's show Christine Sinclair announced she will be returning to Portland for another season, Benfica topped their Champions League group ahead of PSG, and the Europa League is heating up. The Champions League group stages are coming to a close. We have had great competition so far with Club Brugge and Eintracht Frankfurt defining the odds are qualifying for the last 16. However, it has not been as glorious for the Spanish teams in the tournament. While Real Madrid had thrived, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Sevilla have all struggled massively and won't be qualifying for the last 16. What does this now say about La Liga?

Nothing is going right for Juventus this season. First a loss to Monza, then a defeat at the hands of Maccabi Haifa and now elimination from the Champions League. What is going wrong there? Caroline Szwed and Liam Horrobin took a dive into some of the issues going on at the Italian Giants.

There has been a TON of news coming out of the football world. Awards have been handed out and we have had some great matches to watch and analyse. However, one man who didn't even play made all the headlines. Cristiano Ronaldo departed Manchester United's game versus Tottenham Hotspur before the final whistle sounded. It has caused a massive stir in the football community on if Ronaldo was in the right or in the wrong. What we know is that Ronaldo has essentially been suspended by the team for their match against Chelsea. What we don't know is what the future holds further down the road for him and United.

In other football news, Karim Benzema was handed the Ballon d'Or, which he rightfully earned. We are seeing more and more football players succeed at an older age, which should help keep some of the legends around a little longer. Another big talking point from the awards ceremony was Sadio Mane finishing second in Ballon d'Or voting and Jude Bellingham getting snubbed for a couple of awards.

On the pitch, Real Madrid proved their quality versus Barcelona, Liverpool overcame Manchester City and Aston Villa lost 3-0 to Wolves which led to the sacking of Steven Gerrard.

What I really love about this "WeCAN" documentary series is that we are offered a different perspective on this Canadian team. We know about all of their success on the pitch, winning CONCACAF and qualifying for the first World Cup in 36 years but now we also have an opportunity to get to know this team behind closed doors. Max shares his incredible journey and story in the sport of soccer / football. His relentless commitment, dedication and passion for Canada Soccer from a young age, along with his incredible filmmaking talent, has given him the opportunity to work with the organization since 2009. Yesterday was another extraordinary day in the UEFA Champions League.

Mo Salah and Liverpool showed up in a huge way in Scotland, beating The Rangers 7-1 at Ibrox. It wasn't all pretty for Liverpool either who found themselves down 1-0 thanks to a Scott Arfield (Canadian) goal. However, the big guns showed up for Liverpool in the second half with Robert Firmino, Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliott getting goals, along with a six minute hat trick from Salah. Could this now be a turning point in Liverpool's season?

Group C is easily the group of death in this season's competition and last night we had Inter Milan travel to Camp Nou. Barcelona needed a win to keep their knockout stage ambitions alive. Unfortunately for them, Inter had other plans scoring three goals to give themselves a late 3-2 lead. One player that did show up for Barca was Robert Lewandowski. A late equalizer gave Barcelona a point; however, they now need Inter Milan to lose their final two games to progress to the last 16, which feels like a tall ask.

Finally, Caroline and Liam closed out the show talking about Napoli's dominance, the success that Canadians have had in the competition and they ranked two more teams in their Uber One Power Rankings

We are now getting into the thick of it all in the UEFA Champions League. On match week four, football fans saw tons of crazy action which Caroline Szwed and Liam Horrobin dove into on episode 20 of Kicked Back.

The shock results came out of Israel when Maccabi Haifa defeated Italian giants Juventus 2-0 for their first Champions League win of the season. Juventus looked horrible and not like the team we've grown to love over the last ten years. Caroline and Liam talked about what's happened to them and what they need to do to turn things around.

Also on the show, they talked about the drama between PSG and Kylian Mbappe, the underestimation of Borussia Dortmund and players getting hurt before the World Cup.

Once again, Manchester has turned blue after Erling Haaland and Phil Foden each scored hat tricks in their derby match versus Manchester United. It was a disappointing performance from the Red Devils after high expectations following a good run of form. However, Man City brought them back down to earth with a dominant display which leaves many questions to be asked of United, including what Cristiano Ronaldo and Casimero have to do to get into the starting eleven.

Also in the English Premier League, Liverpool's struggles continued at Anfield drawing 3-3 against Brighton in Roberto De Zerbi's first game in charge. There are more questions than answers for the Reds at the moment especially defensively with Trent Alexander-Arnold. Former Manchester United and England defender, Gary Neville suggested that if Trent can clean up his game, he could be the best right back to play the game. Caroline and Liam gave their take on that soundbite from Neville.

Finally, also on the show, Arsenal beat Tottenham in the North London derby helping Liam's predictions that they will be title contenders. And then to close out the show, they began their Uber One World Cup power rankings.

Back-to-back days of Kicked Back! Caroline and Liam are here for another episode of Kicked Back with the main topic being the United States Men's National Football team. The team has struggled lately with only one win in their last five, which came against Grenada. The US has struggled to score goals after being shut out by Japan and Saudi Arabia in their last two matches. Is the issue with the players? Are they playing enough for their club teams? Or is it their manager Gregg Berhalter and his poor tactics? Caroline and Liam covered all of that in today's episode.

Also, in the episode, they talked about the current World Champions France and how they have been struggling as of late. Since 2022 began, they have only beaten Ivory Coast, South Africa and Austria, which is way off their standard. What is the issue? Liam suggested that it could possibly be the number of mouths they have to feed. Perhaps it is time for Didier Deschamps to put his foot down.

Finally, to close out the show, Liam and Caroline talked about a few of their favourite underappreciated players from years past and re-lived a few moments from their iconic careers. You can hear all that and more on today's episode of Kicked Back.
