  • Balancing Quarantined Life with Single or Solo Parenting I Rachael Scharrer
There is no doubt the challenges we are facing, collectively here in Australia and throughout the globe due to COVID-19 are far beyond anything that we ever thought was possible.
Until now the complex, incomprehensible and distressing reality of a pandemic has only ever been a fictional reality that could be understood on the big screen in motion pictures and feature films or in a sci-fi novel.
Not on our nightly news or daily newspaper.
During these unprecedented times, we have been told to look out for the elderly and those who are unable to care for themselves due to health concerns or government regulations.
There is however another demographic that equally need support and consideration and that is of for single parents and solo primary carer parents.
Today we are here to help support them with our special guest, Rachael Scharrer, Life Change Counsellor and Separation Strategist at Divorce Answered
Rachael will be sharing expert tips for balancing quarantined life with single or solo parenting.
    We ask Rachael questions including:
Social restrictions are making it incredibly hard for all single parents in an already unrelenting task of parenting. This demanding task has been even more intense without any relief. In your line of work, what has been your experience with this?
In your role as a divorce and relationship expert and Separation Strategist what are your thoughts on the additional pressures single parents are feeling and experiencing right now with the likes of homeschooling and social isolation?
Can you share your tips to help single parents through their day?
Do you have any advice for parents who are sharing custody of their children however are concerned about social isolation rules and regulations?
Meeting obligations may be more challenging during this time for separated parents. If a court order or agreement is in place. However one parent is finding it hard to meet the terms, what advice do you have to help the two parties find a solution?
Social isolation may prove more difficult for parents to co-parent during this time, meaning the core caregiver has the children the majority of the time, no doubt this can lead to exhaustion.
What about single parents who are expected to working from home and homeschool. Do you have any words of advice on how they can best juggle the needs of children and work?
A lot of single parents don’t have a backup. They’re faced with limited access to childcare and job loss, to coping with isolation, to possibly having to decide who will bring up their children in the event of any illness, not just COVID19 — and this time all these big heavy issues all seem so real.
What advice do you have for a parent that should consider putting a backup plan together?

  • How And Why You Should Create A Vision Board I Suzanne Robinson
Have you ever heard the saying, that thoughts become things? It is true because they are things.
Everything we think causes motion and activity. Our thoughts are the frequency of energy that we sent out to the universe as to what we want or don’t want. This frequency of energy spirals back to us giving us what we have sent out and asked for.
Have you ever noticed the more you focus on something, the more you receive it?
Our thoughts have tremendous power as they shape our vision, outlook on life and perspective and how we choose to see the world around us.
What is imprinted in our subconscious mind becomes our reality?
So how can we influence our reality? It’s simple we control our thoughts.
One way to do this is through the daily activities of manifestation through vision boards.
Vision boards are a wonderful way to conquer negative thoughts by the daily practice of positive ones, focusing on the things you want to bring into your life ie dream job, material items like a new phone, clothes
To discuss this today we are joined our guest Suzanne Robinson from Mummy to Twins Plus One.
    We discuss topics including
Why would you make a vision board?
How can it help you focus your goals and intentions/wishes?
Do vision boards work? Some say no and others swear by them.

  • Talking To Children About COVID-19 I Donna Cameron
There’s no doubt that kids are like sponges, they sense and feel what is going on around them.
We can certainly shield them from the news on TV, but we can’t always hide their eyes or ears to the information they hear during conversations at home, possibly something they may see on online, or the anxiety they pick up from us, the adults in their life.
So, as a means of protecting them, if you haven’t openly addressed the details and issues we are all encountering with COVID-19, they would no doubt be aware of some change the world has gone and is going through.
In cases like this we need to consider going towards the fear because lets face it, wouldn’t you rather your kids hear it from you than from somewhere else? At least this way you can ensure they have heard the right information and delivered in the tone and manner you want.
So how do you talk to your kids when you’re feeling the emotions too?
Lucky for us we are joined by our special guest Donna Cameron.
For the last 15 years, Donna has been working as a qualified Psychologist at The Couch Therapy with children, adolescents, adults and couples.
    We ask Donna questions including
What is the best way to answer questions about the coronavirus to our children?
How can we reduce their fears about the coronavirus?
What is the best advice for talking to children about their grandparents or older relatives that they are not able to see at the moment?
