There’s a term used often in the church-world; we wear many hats. In some cursory research, this phrase comesfrom the mid-1900’s when professions were quite identifiable by their hats. 
I know that our church is not uniquein the fact that many of us in Sunday school ministry wear many different hats. In our Sunday school we oftenwear several hats just within Sunday school-sometimes literally. 

We can have an impact and make animpression when we invest in the character we are portraying and today we want to talk about keeping thatdelineation between characters and various staff roles.

Some of the things we try to cover:

• Change it up
• Keeping Track
• Don't break the fourth wall
• Cast for consistency

Today I'm joined by Bro. Joseph & Sis. Angel Ladd from The Rock Church in Elk Grove, California.

The Ladds came and helped out at our Children's Church during our annual Northwest Youth Conference. What an incredible couple. They dived in and helped with the set and jumped in full swing to Children's Church. I'm not sure if they got any sleep while they were here, but they were a huge blessing and a blast to be around!

We talked a little bit about the conference Children's Church and a brief interview of the Ladds' background.

Then we got to talk about something exciting the Ladds are doing at their church; Extreme Team where they develop young people into leaders!

Today I'm joined by Bro. Brennen and we're talking about Sunday School Intuition.

One definition of intuition is, “the ability to understand something immediately, without the need for conscious reasoning.” 
We all experience varying levels of intuition in different areas of our lives. In work for example, if you’ve been doing something for a long time, there are many things that come, quote, natural to you, that could just be intuition. 
But the interesting thing about intuition is when it’s subconscious, where you can’t quite put your finger on it. It’s intangible, yet it’s accurate. Surprisingly, first impressions can be this way-not always-but sometimes we can have a first impression of someone or something despite having no history or basis just based on subconscious cues such as body language, tone etc. 
Our premise today is that intuition, specifically in a Children’s Ministry environment, can be developed. 

Some of the things we try to cover:

1. Experience builds intuition
2. The more engaged you are, the better your intuition
3. Your perspective affects your intuition
4. Fast-track building your intuition

Today I'm joined by Bro. Myles and we're talking about having that perfect position.

Most of us probably have an idea of the “perfect job” or even a position within the company that we work for. I remember a friend of mine telling me about her 4-year-old son. They were at the store, and he was in the cart wearing one of those plastic firemen hats. The cashier asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up and he said, “A fireman.” And then he paused and was like, “Or a dog.” Fireman to dog, this kid sounds like he was destined to be Sunday school staff! 

In Sunday school and just church ministry there are many jobs and most of us wear more than one hat. When you’re trying to overcome a challenge, there’s a concept of throwing everything to see what sticks. I think we should take this approach when it comes to children’s ministry. If you’re asked to be a dog instead of wearing the firemen’s hat, be the best dog you can be! 

Some of the things we try to cover:

• Be available and you will be used
• Fully invest
• Be willing to fulfill "less than ideal" positions
• Pass it on

We are running out of time! I’m pretty young-depending on who you ask-but the older I get the more pressure I feel on accomplishing goals. By nature, I’m a planner. I like to get everything organized and have clear steps and objectives. While I do think this has served me well, it can also be my Achilles Heel. 
There are many of us in children’s ministry that have lofty goals and super cool ideas-it comes with the territory; but I’m afraid that our timeline might be too long. 
Today we want to talk about moving the kingdom of God forward in this vehicle we call children’s ministry.
