A Brilliant Young Mind (also known by its original title "X+Y") is the story of Nathan Ellis, a young math prodigy that has a hard time with people but finds comfort in numbers and patterns, acknowledged as autistic . Nathan is determined to enter the International Mathematic Olympiad (IMO), but learns about many things in life, such as love. This story is based on the story of Daniel Lightwing who won a medal in 2008 for the IMO. 

I bring on my friend, Ernesto, and talk about ASD (autistic spectrum disorder) and how the movie both has amazing parts that portray ASD so amazingly and at the same time, we talk about our critiques for the movie and how the film industry can grow on talking about people with autism. 

Warning: I am aware that ASD is a spectrum where each person experiences life differently and that both my friend and I address this topic seriously and with the respect that autism deserves. I hope you all enjoy this episode. :)

In this Italian movie, a young woman about to become 18, Anna, is resentful of never getting to know her mother, who had passed away soon after she was born. Running away from home, Anna finds a woman who is pregnant, diagnosed with breast cancer. With Anna, the pregnant mother, Eliza, asks Anna to help pick out 18 presents that Anna will receive over her lifetime. In reality, Anna is getting to know her mother, Eliza, during this time, learning about her mother's love for her and her future. 

This is the start of season 2. I know that this season seems very heavy on emotion but this episode has become one of my personal favorites. With my friend, April, back again to record this episode with me, there are plenty of charged emotions and honesty that I hope you all feel. 

Hello everyone! I wanted to first say, happy new year! Since I've been uploading episodes almost nonstop, I will be taking a much needed break for about 3 weeks. I should have a new episode for you all by January 22 so that you all can see the new stuff I have in store for you! Broadway musical, Prom: The Musical, becomes immortalized as a movie on Netflix. When a young teenager, Emma, wants to go to the Prom with her girlfriend, the PTA decide to cancel the prom. But with four Broadway musical castaways here to help, they give Emma the prom off her dreams along with changing the town's attitude towards LGBTQ+ and changing their own viewpoints. 

In this episode, we talk about LGBTQ+ representation, perfection, and the roles of the characters with my friend, April, and my Kuya (older brother (not actual older brother but he is my older brother in my club)) Matt that help give me a fresh take on Prom: The Musical. 

Have you ever wanted a Christmas movie to be longer, with some more character development and care put into the plot? The romantic comedy Christmas television show "Dash and Lily" is for you. Dash, a pessimist about Christmas and wary about being too close to people, finds a book with title in the Strand, a neighborhood bookstore in New York City. He is lead on a journey through the red notebook and now, he wants more than anything to meet her... but not before they go around the city, passing the notebook to one another. 

In this episode, I am again joined with April and we talk about the show and go off on many tangents about our personal lives and our personalities as hopeless romantics. 

Shot with people in isolation, this anthology series depicts the tragic and comedic sides of being in COVID-19, from handling a funeral over Zoom to taking care of a kid while a wife is gravely ill with the coronavirus. This series captures all of our emotions during the crazy and unpredictable time where nothing is really certain except for the connection and love people have for their loved ones. With this series starting to be written in April and turned around by the October deadline, people who were already together would just work from the isolation of their homes, filming this the same as being away from each other on video calls, texts, and social media. 

In this episode, we'll be talking about just being at home and I'll be sharing some details on how staying at home is for me. 

If you like holiday movies that are predictable, this movie is for you. Stacy and Margaret are back for another holiday adventure. Duchess Margaret of Montenaro is set to become queen after the king died and his son abdicated the throne while Stacy is now Princess of Belgravia, wife to her husband, Edward, prince of Belgravia. This thing is that Margaret did not get her happy ending. She broke up with Stacy's best friend, Kevin, and haven't seen each other for months but Stacy decides to bring Kevin and his daughter, Olivia, to Montenaro to celebrate Margaret's coronation. The only problem is there is a third lookalike, Lady Fiona of Pembroke, that wants Margaret's crown and the money in the royal treasury.   

Honestly, my sister, Mara and I do not talk about this movie much because it has things we both know but you'll get to listen to us tell some embarrassing stories and just have some fun this holiday season.

Roona is a girl that was born with an advanced hydrocephaly, a condition where there is extra fluid in the skull, putting pressure on the brain. Throughout this documentary, Roona and her family go through the journey of removing the fluid from her skull, reconstructing her head, and rebuilding her life to be productive and happy. 

This episode is fairly short since the documentary is short but there is some trigger warning for this episode. 

The reality show is a bit crazy but the stories of the deaf community and the people who live in the spectrum of the community are true and real. This show focuses on a small group of Deaf students that attend Gallaudet University and the drama that ensues in this show. 

Our review, me along with resident fangirl, April, talk about our experiences with learning American Sign Language, Nyle DiMarco, deaf culture in general and its correlation to the drama that happens in Gallaudet. 

WIth the first comparison episode of Kilig in Circumstances, we look at two different Filipino family movies, Seven Sundays (2017) and Four Sisters and a Wedding (2013). In Seven Sundays, Manuel Bonifacio, the patriarch of the family, finds out that he will die in 8 weeks and asks his children, Allan, Bryan, Cha, and Dee to spend every Sunday with him until he passes away. In Four Sisters and a Wedding, the whole Salazar family come to celebrate the only boy in the family, CJ,  getting married. Sisters, Teddie, Bobby, Alex, and Gabbie, come together and find that they don't like CJ's fiancee, working together to split the couple up. These two movies have plenty of family dynamics in common and I go through all of them.
