In February last year police, after receiving a 911 call, found Linda Robinson and her 12 year old son Sebastian shot dead in their home. They had been killed by husband and father Andrew Robinson who had also taken their own life.

This is the story of Linda and Sebastian Robinson.

On 5 May 2009 31 year old Sheri Coleman and her two sons 11 year old Garret and 9 year old Gavin were found murdered in the home they shared with husband and father Chris Coleman. On his return from the gym that day Coleman became a prime suspect in their murders and the police found a complex web of lies that he had created to hide the affair he was having. Exactly two years after the murders on 5 May 2011 Coleman was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murders of his wife and two sons.

In March 1976 Annette Bishop, her three children William, Brenton and Geoffrey and her mother-in-law Lobelia Bishop were all killed presumably by husband, father and son William Bradford Bishop. Not only did he bury all five bodies of his family in a nearby swamp he then absconded and has not been found since – despite being on the FBI’s Most Wanted list.

Join me, Clare Laxton, as we untangle the heart-wrenching story of the Sueppel family tragedy that left a community in mourning. On Easter Sunday, 2008 in Iowa Sheryl Sueppel and her four children Ethan (age 10), Seth (age 9), Mira (age 5) and Eleanor (age 3) were brutally killed by husband and father Steven Sueppel. Sueppel then took his own life through a car crash.

On 13 November 2001 Jennifer Blagg and her 6-year-old daughter Abby were missing from their home in Colorado – leaving behind a pool of blood in the master bedroom. Her husband Michael Blagg reported them missing but soon became the only suspect in the murders of his wife and daughter. In June 2002 Jennifer’s body was found in a landfill, Abby, sadly, has never been found.

In April 2011 after a neighbour raised the alarm and a few welfare checks police found the bodies of five family members buried under a terrace in a house in Nantes, France – a mother and her four children. Their father, however, was missing and is still the main suspect in their murders.

In December 2009 Julie Harrison was dropping off her four-year-old daughter Maisie at her ex-partner Andrew Copland’s house when he dragged them both inside to shoot and kill them. Maisie died straight away but Julie held on for another 24 hours before succumbing to her injuries. Copland also took his own life. A controlling and abusive partner Copland took the opportunity of child contact to end Julie and his daughter’s lives. This is the story of Julie and Maisie Harrison.

In May 2021 Bethany Vincent and her 9-year-old son Darren Henson were stabbed and killed by her ex-partner Daniel Boulton. A serial perpetrator of domestic abuse and coercive control Boulton had two restraining orders against him when he walked 28 miles to kill Bethany and her son. A review into the murders concluded that the risk he posed was underestimated by professionals and I believe that better understanding of coercive control could have prevented the murders.
