We're baaaaack discussing Sir Elton John's GOODBYE PEACHTREE ROAD estate sale at Christie's. Then we're yee-hawing onto Pharrell's F/W '24 show for Louis Vuitton, during which he wore the world's thinnest watch (the RM UP-01). And to close, it's all about SALTBURN (better late than never!). Ciao for now xo
We're baaaaaack after the holidays discussing our fav watch brand press presents, Furbies and posi vibes. Then it's WATCH NEWS: Frédéric Arnault Named CEO Of LVMH Watches! Then our take on red carpet watches (it's all marketing). Full listicle here (shout out Cam Wolf). And then we get into the difference between watches and fashion, taking a cue from Malaika's adventures in Paris.
Killing Time with Brynn and Malaika is back with a special video edition (!!!), shot live from Miami in celebration of Cartier Time Unlimited, an immersive exhibition encapsulating Cartier's watchmaking legacy.
WATCH NEWS is all about the exhibition itself, which blew us away and is open to the public in Miami's chic Design District until December 22.
WATCH SPOTTING covers Cartier ambassador (and new friend of the pod) Emma Chamberlain and her viral Baignoire choker moment. We also discuss #CartierBoy Jacob Elordi and Princess Diana's Tank Française in the latest season of The Crown.
Our final segment is CHATTING WITH THE EXPERTS, going deep into Cartier watchmaking design and technology with Romain Moyse (Innovation & Technology Manager) & Raphael Abeillon (Sr. Watch Designer).
Ciao for now xo
This week, we're joined by Thom Bettridge, Head of Creative and Content at SSENSE and Malaika's former boss. We discuss the AP Royal Oak Spidey, Malaika's trip to Monaco and a lot of other things... about watches, duh. Ciao x
Ciaooooo! We're back with episode 3. Big watch news: Audemars Piguet announces a new CEO, Ilaria Resta. Then onto watch spotting, featuring The Weeknd's Cannes Piaget moment. And then, Malaika gives a play by play of her fancy trip to Venice with Bulgari. xo
Welcome back to Killing Time, in which we discuss the Coronation and the Royal Family (topics Malaika is well-versed in, whereas Brynn is a passive observer). You can read about Prince, ahem, King Charles's Parmigiani here and the Queen's (Elizabeth, not Camilla) watches here. The back across the pond for a healthy dose of watch spotting thanks to the gift that keeps on giving, the NBA Playoffs. Adele's power couple watch moment is really all you need to see here. Ciao for now.
We're BAAAAACK! It's the Season 2 premiere and we're coming at you with a Watches & Wonders recap, shouting out our favorite watches including Malaika's fav, the Rolex Emoji Day-Date and Brynn's fav, the Cartier Baignoire bangle. We also discuss the Met Gala, highlighting Jeremy Strong's insane outfit and RM 07-04. You can see what everyone wore here.
This week, we have a good ol' chinwag because there's not much watch stuff to speak about ahead of WATCHES & WONDERS! Then we talk about the Gem Awards aka the Oscars of the jewelry world. Next episode will drop in 2 weeks, where we are back to our regularly scheduled watch programming (and not just talking about BORGs, which unfortunately we can't attach an image of in the "show notes"... DM Brynn if you want it).
Happy belated International Women's Day to all who celebrate lol. We start with a therapy sesh about being a woman in the watch world, and then we dive into watch spotting at the OSCARS! See Malaika's article on "pay to play" via Hodinkee.
We’re baaaack after a brief hiatus due to Brynn being ACROSS THE POND! Good to be back to discuss:
WATCH NEWS
RICHARD MILLE releases the RM 07-04 Automatic Sport, designed for women by women.
We both went to AP house on the same day (me in London, Malaika in NYC). Malaika loved the ceramic Offshore aka "The Beast" and I loved the titanium Royal Oak QP.
And neither of us got to try on the gold RO with the turquoise dial :'(
WATCH SPOTTING... we could have talked about Kim K wearing the G-Shock and the subsequent HATERS... but we're being positive today.
And then we have a nice CHINWAG about LONDON!!!!!!! Shout-out IWC for sending Brynn, but alas, everything she saw there was under embargo until the end of March.
