The tone in church on Father's Day often leaves men with a sense of insecurity and overwhelm about all the ways they are falling short of their role and responsibility. Tonight, Zack challenges that religious script by looking at the humility, kindness, and gentleness of Jesus and what he has to teach us about fathering as we reevaluate the expectations we put on men and dads.

Human love is frail - it's always imperfect and a little clumsy. Our attempts at love and commitment and devotion are never without fault and flaw. The beauty of Jesus is that he accepts our clumsy, fumbled, and fragile way of loving him and his love for us is always steady and unfailing. Tonight we explore Peter's denial and his restoration in John chapters 18 & 21 as he learns this about Jesus in a powerful way.

As we revisit chapters that recount the arrest, death, and resurrection of Jesus, Zack draws out four unique takeaways from chapters 18-20 with fresh perspective. Tonight we explore the element of God's timing, dealing with accusation, exchanging the fear of God's punishments for embracing the intensity of his love, and the way emptiness gives way to fullness.

Jesus, with little time left in his earthly life, prays for his disciples while also praying for, amazingly, you and me. What he reveals is an access to his Authority and Power that he extends to us. Tonight, we look to a story featuring a woman named Martha. Martha is not a mother, though she understands the weight of expectation, the pressure to provide, and the exhaustion of running a household. Jesus doesn't minimize her overwhelm, but invites her in closer where she can meet his gaze and experience real reprieve and real joy. What might it look like for each of us, whether we are moms or not, to respond to this invitation?

In the final hours of his last night on earth, Jesus introduces the promise of the Holy Spirit. Knowing he has to leave and that his departure will be devastating for his followers, Jesus intends on comforting them with this news that another Advocate just like him will make his home among them. We consider together how recovering the Spirit's nature and power might be a comfort to us as we face uncertainty, transition, and hardship.

What we feel most connected to in life will become the guideposts we reside by. The voices, influences, and connections we remain in is what inevitably begins to shape and form us. Jesus talks about what it means to abide in him and in God, and what it means to be connected to both our Creator and to one another.
