Christians across the political spectrum are often keen to assert that their faith informs their stances. Unfortunately, few Christians seem to consider how their faith should inform the way they advocate those stances. So in today’s sermon we’ll explore how the way of Jesus should inform the way we engage in politics and why that’s vitally important. Join us as we continue our series on the intersection of faith and politics.

In case you haven’t heard, there’s an election coming up. Some of us are super passionate about it…and others of us are super not. Some of us feel deeply invested…others of us just feel cynical. But as followers of Jesus, it’s important to ask the question, What does our faith have to say about all of this? Is political engagement part of our calling? Whether you love politics, hate politics, or anything in between, join us for today’s sermon as we start a new series exploring what our faith can teach us in this election season.

Is there anything we want more than control? We think that if we could just get things under control, all our problems would be solved and we would finally be satisfied with our lives. But what if the control we long for isn’t even possible? What if it’s actually a good thing that so much of our life is out of our control? What if we can get what our heart most deeply desires without being in control? That’s what we’ll explore in today’s sermon. Join us as we wrap up our series, “Counterfeit Gods.”

Our culture teaches us that sex has the power to satisfy the deepest longings of our hearts. But while sex can be good (!), it cannot ultimately give us what our hearts most deeply crave. And when we put too much hope in sex, we find constant disappointment and we leave a trail of destruction in our wake. So in today’s sermon, we’ll talk about why sex is good, when sex becomes bad, and how to do sexuality the way God intended.
Scripture Reading: 1 Thessalonians 4:1-9
