Training Kingdom Mindsets for Business

The 10-week online training with six sessions hosted by Bill and Gea starts three times a year: in February, May and September. The material is based on Bill's experiences on the workfloor. In this podcast Gea talks with Eric and Annebeth, a couple from the Netherlands, who are moving to Asia to expand a coffee business aimed at helping local farmers. While preparing for their move, they decided to work together with the mission organization Interserve, which supports people globally in integrating faith with their work. Because, besides helping farmers economically, they also seek ways to share their Christian faith. Their mission is not just to grow a business but to bring lasting change to the community. 

Their goal is to increase the number of farmers from 250 to 1,000, improving their livelihoods by helping them grow coffee, earn a steady income, and access education and healthcare. While the project is a business, its core mission is to provide jobs and social justice. Eric brings a background in financial management, and Annebeth specializes in sustainable investing, both of which they plan to apply to make the business more sustainable.

Eric and Annebeth's story highlights the importance of using professional skills in building these kind of social (BAM) businesses, and they encourage listeners to consider how they can contribute to projects with a social impact.

Bart Kuijpers, co-founder of Coolblue, highlights the importance of integrating faith into entrepreneurship.

Bart then founded Royalis Investments with Maurits Roose, focusing on Christian entrepreneurs as they see them as potential modern-day pastors who can offer mentorship and guidance to their employees as well as to broader society. Bart wants to support those entrepreneurs with finances, leadership advice, and spiritual encouragement. While encouraging them to pursue impactful goals that extend beyond their lifetimes. 

Bill Job affirms Bart’s approach, reflecting on his own experiences in China where building a strong, collaborative team led to long-term influence. Together, they urge entrepreneurs to foster supportive communities, celebrate successes, and seek God’s direction.

Arun Prabhu needs to take a long-term approach to launch and advance Lancent’s mission: tackling poverty-related diseases through affordable innovations. 'For the past fifteen years, we've operated as a research and development firm,' Arun explains. 'Now, we're close to market entry and preparing to deliver our products to the vulnerable communities in malaria-endemic countries. That's where the rubber meets the road.'

During our first podcast with Arun in June 2023, he recounted how he and his current business partner created their first malaria net at his home in 2010. Since our conversation, a year and a half has passed, and his team and office have doubled in size. Arun reflects on how he has witnessed God’s faithfulness in bringing the right team members and business partners on board.

Beyond the passionate team who has extensive experience in the industry, he connected with partners like Wim Hasselman of MissionInvest who connected him with investors. 'I can't do it alone,' shares Arun, 'As we grow, I've learned that it's not just about the 'how' we do things, but also about 'with whom.'
