Kenny continues with his friend Willam Puckett on the new podcast series called “Being Otherly”. This episode is titled ““Forgive Accept and Bear with One Another” and Kenny and William look at and discuss what forgiving one another, accepting one another and bearing with one another might look like n the lives of Jesus followers.
1 but Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. 2 Early in the morning he came again to the temple. All the people came to him, and he sat down and taught them. 3The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in adultery, and placing her in the midst 4 they said to him, “Teacher, this woman has been caught in the act of adultery. 5 Now in the Law, Moses commanded us to stone such women. So what do you say?” 6 This they said to test him, that they might have some charge to bring against him. Jesus bent down and wrote with his finger on the ground. 7 And as they continued to ask him, he stood up and said to them, “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.” 8 And once more he bent down and wrote on the ground. 9 But when they heard it, they went away one by one, beginning with the older ones, and Jesus was left alone with the woman standing before him. 10 Jesus stood up and said to her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” 11She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more.”
8Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” 9Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
Be gentle with one another, sensitive. Forgive one another as quickly and thoroughly as God in Christ forgave you.
We love because he first loved us.
Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.
with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love,
Be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love.
And mark that you do this with humility and discipline – not in fits and starts, but steadily, pouring yourselves out for each other in acts of love, (3) alert at noticing differences and quick at mending fences. (4) You were all called to travel on the same road and in the same direction, so stay together, both outwardly and inwardly.
