In Mark 6:14-29, we find ourselves in another crazy passage of Scripture that is charged with both intensity and tragedy—pride, murder, incest, scandal. When you dig into the text, we find an important message for all of us. This is the only place in the entire Gospel of Mark where the character focus is not Jesus. Mark breaks away from the narrative of King Jesus' ministry to tell the story of another "king": Herod Antipas. The big lesson: don't be like Herod. We take a look at what happens when the "kingdom of self" collides with the "kingdom of God."
