Special guest preacher One Mokgatle (director, Acts 29 Southern Africa) unpacks John 1:19-34 and how our life stories should always point to God's grand story of redemption.

In Mark 6:1-13, we find an honest admission: that while some people are drawn to Jesus and his teachings, others are repelled by him. We’ll take a look at the offensiveness of Jesus—why he offends some, what it ultimately says about him, and what it means for us today.

In Mark 5:21-43, Jesus encounters two very different people who are dealing with great fears and hopelessness—one is a respected religious leader and the other is a social outcast. They turn to Jesus who takes their hopeless fears and gives them hopeful faith. Even with imperfect faith, we can turn to the perfect Savior.

In this sermon through Mark 5:1-20, we take a look at the reality of evil and how Jesus has come to slay it in its entirety. It’s a strange passage of scripture with an army of demons, a herd of pigs, and a man who charges at Jesus. Nonetheless, we dig into the fascinating text to see the beauty and power of God’s grace in the face of pure evil.

What do we do when life is hard? When we are faced with hardship? When we suffer a whirlwind of chaos and it seems as if God isn't there? In this week's sermon on Mark 4:35-41, we take a look at the presence of God in our suffering and hardship.

What is the kingdom of God that Jesus came to bring? Jesus offers a few more parables to paint for us a fuller picture of what he means when he says “the kingdom of God is at hand.” We’ll also see how Jesus reveals this truer and better kingdom through his life, teaching, death, and resurrection.

The further we dive into the Gospel of Mark, the more we see how people responded to Jesus’ message in a number of ways. In this week's sermon, we see how Jesus used a parable to explain why people respond to him in any one of four ways. These four ways still apply to hearers of his word today.

Through another encounter Jesus has with the religious elite, we learn about the purpose of Sabbath rest, the problem with religion, and what Jesus has to say about both.

In this week’s text, Jesus is confronted by his most thoroughgoing critics. They wonder why he’s not conforming to their old self-made traditions, and Jesus responds with the good news that he is doing a shockingly newer and better thing. We’ll unpack the meaning of feasting and fasting, and we’ll see how the presence and nearness of God changes everything!
