It's Reformation Sunday at KXC. We hear from special guest Dr Thaddeus Williams, theology professor at BIOLA University. He walks us through the longest sentence in the Bible. In the original Greek, Ephesians 1:3-10 is the longest run on sentence in the Scriptures. The apostle Paul was sharing the greatest news in all of history and couldn’t contain his joy. Dr Williams unpacks the wonderful gospel truths in this glorious passage of Scripture.

In Mark 11:1-25 we see how the life and mission of Jesus defies all human expectations and is full of paradox: his majesty is marked by meekness, his salvation comes through judgment, and his power through complete surrender. Our text is intriguing: Jesus faces off with temple workers and a barren fig tree. Guess who wins? It’s an odd text, but we’ll dig deep to see how Christ is unexpected in so many ways—he’s bigger and better than we could ever imagine.

Mark 10:32-52

In Mark 10:17-31 we look at Jesus’s encounter with a young wealthy man and learn what it means to truly treasure Christ above all.

What is true greatness? In Mark 9:30-10:16, Jesus catches his disciples in the most ridiculous argument: who among them will be the greatest in the Kingdom? Jesus then reveals that the way they think about greatness, leadership, and power is all backwards.

In Mark 9:2-29 we dig into an interesting couple stories in the Gospel of Mark. One is a glorious mountaintop experience, and the other is a grave valley experience. There are timeless lessons to learn from both and how they fit together. Practically, we see how the good news in our passage brings us hope when we’re dealing with discontentment, doubt, depression, anxiety, loss - and the everyday hard stuff of life.

The serpent promised Eve something he could not give her and something she already had. Today, the same lie confuses us, leaving us wondering; who are we? Thankfully, we don't have to define ourselves because the Author of our lives has given us more value, worth, and purpose than we could ever give ourselves!

In Mark 8:22-38 we look at the most pivotal passage in the Gospel of Mark on who Jesus is and what he came to do. We all have our assumptions of who Jesus is. Even his disciples did. In this text, Jesus directly asks the foundational question: "Who am I to you?" Maybe you're considering this question for the first time. Maybe you're reconsidering it. Maybe you've already answered it, but now you're wrestling with how your answer impacts your day to day life. Regardless of where you're at we get to know the real historic Jesus.
