Kings in the Classroom

On our season 2 finale, the Kings meet with... Kings!! These kings are in AND out of the classroom: Kyair Butts- 4th Grade Teacher of Waverly Elementary/Middle School, Mike Battle- Founder/Director of The RICH After-School Program, and Jordan Kilson- Dean of Students at Kelly Miller Middle School. This is an episode you DON'T want to miss!!

On a very special episode, the Kings in the classroom meet with 3 Queens in the classroom: LaQuisha Hall, Shayn Blackwell, and Mallory Wright as they all discuss the current landscape of education, what makes them passionate about their work, and much more!!

The Kings are going back to the basics today as we talk about the day of a life of a teacher in the middle of a pandemic!!

Today the kings start off with a quick music debate on artists such as Kid Cudi, Jene Aiko, and Tyler the Creator. Then they get into the nitty gritty discussing classroom management best practices, what is expected of them as black male teachers, and how to be your most authentic self in the classroom!

Today the kings talk about how to support students who have been through a significant amount of trauma which affects their mental and emotional stability. Then the conversation takes a turn on how we as cis-gendered heterosexual black men can be more supportive to the LGTBQ community and how that relates to our students who may identify in that community as well.

The kings discuss on this episode what it means to be emotionally intelligent which consists of learning how to express yourself in a healthy manner and much more!

Today the kings sit down to talk about the pros and cons of public and private education, their own experiences being in public and private schools, what it is like to teach in both schools, and much more!

Today the kings are discussing the importance of voting, what the country's political and social climate could look like based on who wins, and much more!!

The Kings are BACK! They start off by talking about their feelings regarding the return to distance learning in the fall. Then they discuss Baltimore City School's Reopening Plan. At the end they talk about their music sleeper pics.
