Christians be salt in this world.  Speak up and speak out for Christ and His agenda! 

Just like many people at the table, and they taste their bland food and say ‘please pass the salt’ let’s say that spiritually and add a little seasoning, a little flavor, and a little healing to our lives and nation.  

Lost person, you are saltless and missing out.  In the OT there was a covenant of salt.  A sacrifice was offered but it had to be offered with salt on the meat.  Friends, Christ was the ultimate Sacrifice and He wants to make a covenant with you.  There’s nothing for you to do except believe – John 3:16.  Believe and receive Christ and then He will throw the salt in your life and you will spring out living water!

Another glimpse of Heaven!

We finished Elijah with his going up in a whirlwind, but we are really just getting started with Elisha.  There’s a double portion still to come!

2nd Kings 2:11-18.   What I see in this short passage today is a great contrast of faith and unbelief.  We see the faith of Elisha, but the unbelief of the sons of the prophets.  I want to preach today on this:  Living by Faith.

We come to the final story in Elijah’s life! He goes to up to Heaven in a whirlwind! The truth is, there's only 2 ways to enter Heaven: (1) Death or (2) Rapture. And that's only true for the Christian! So, are you going to Heaven?

We the audience come to view a new Act in our Drama - a major turn from an earthly setting to a Heavenly one. We have now seen what John "hast seen" and we've seen the "things which are", but now we are about to look into "the things which shall be hereafter" (Rev 1:19.) Oh what a Drama this will be!

Moving from Elijah to Elisha.   1st Kings 19:13-21.

“anoint to be prophet in thy room”. Elisha was going to be anointed.  Anointing in the Bible could be for cleansing and beautifying, for healing, or for ordaining to specific job or ministry.  Elisha was about to receive an important call on his life, a special anointing!

Every Christian is anointed.  The issue is not whether or not you are anointed but rather whether or not you are abiding!  

We come to our last church on our Journey with Jesus - Laodicea. It was 40 some miles southeast of Philadelphia. Laodicea was a banking center, and as such was a wealthy city. The Church there shared in that wealth outwardly, but lacked in inward spiritual richness.
