Knockbain Free Church of Scotland

Tonight we resume our study in Psalm 25 and see how David, the psalmist who was a great rebel and sinner, asks God to forget his sins and faults of youth. We discover that God, who is a covenant keeping God, hears the prayers of those who confess and repent. In God's love and mercy we find forgiveness and we can be assured that our faith is grounded in God's work and not of our works.

We resume our study today in Luke chapter 7 and consider the words of verse 28. We explore the meaning when we read that -none is greater than John yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.-

We explore the passage this evening under 3 headings--1- God's provision-2- Response of the people-3- Lessons we can learn

This morning we look at the words of Christ on the cross -It is finished- and we see 3 things from this--1- Statement of Fact-2- Expression of Satisfaction-3- Cry of Triumph

Today we are grateful to have Mr Angus Mackay visiting and preaching on a passage that encourages the church to be united and of the same mind in sharing the Gospel. We examine how unity applies in the friendship and fellowship of the church and how we are to strive for unity as one people. Lastly we consider at how we as a congregation can be more effective in our unity and purpose of sharing the Good News of the Gospel.

Tonight we explore the rich meaning of 'Hesed' which is the Hebrew word that is translated as lovingkindness, tender mercies, great love of God. Taking this word from verse 6 of Psalm 25 we will see this word in action as--1- 'Hesed' saves dead people-2- 'Hesed' saves by grace-3- 'Hesed' saves from eternity
