  • Craig Siegel l Redesign, Reenergize, Reinvent, Purposeful Living & Cultivating Lasting Symphony

Growing up Craig Siegel had a stable happy home life but lacked purpose and direction.  He went to college but admittedly didn't learn much.  He was focused on partying and having a good time, instead of his personal development.  He studied finance and eventually made his way to Wall Street.

Craig worked on Wall Street in Manhattan for 11 years, and right before the pandemic happened in 2019, it started to take a toll on him.  It was unpredictable, stressful and he didn't feel like he was happy in his life anymore.  So he made a career change and started focusing on what made him happy.  He reprogrammed his mind & his priorities.  He learned to like new foods, new skills & new hobbies. He even runs marathons now & running is one of the new things in life that is very therapeutic for him.
These charges are what led him to start podcasting, motivational speaking & more with his new company Cultivate Lasting Symphony.  His goal with Cultivate Lasting Symphony is to enhance your professional career. Craig makes the point that revamping your mindset is essential. You need to identify your passion and then orchestrate a strategy.  This is effective in recovery & addiction, as well as making your general life more focused and on track for success.

  • Brett Lovett | Reconciliation after Trauma, addiction, divorce, Isolation & The Power of Mentoring

Growing up, Brett had great parents. Nothing crazy or traumatic happened during his youth, but when his parents divorced when he was 20 years old, this was the event that led to his problems. His family dynamic changed, and he started making a lot of bad decisions and lifestyle choices because he didn't have that stability that reinforced that for him before.

He at first tried the traditional way of dealing with relationship trauma & admitting his faults to strangers. Brett realized he needed to find a path that would create a purposeful life.

So, Brett decided to rebuild his family connection & deal with his trauma in his own way. This led to him founding Family Reconcile. Family Reconcile challenges deeply entrenched destructive mindsets or ways of thinking that society tries to get us to accept as normal in our relationships. They challenge them by showing you a better way to re-connect with your relationships.

Family reconcile does not engage in or do therapy. They do not offer clinical advice or direction. Through their mentoring model, they use communication tools used by mediators and compiled research from positive psychology to bring about transformational thinking and facilitate positive transformational changes in oneself and their relationships. It's a 6-month program with a mentor that helps you along the way.

His goal with Family Reconcile is to explore the traumas of the past & why they are affecting you currently. And if there are any unresolved issues there, they try to connect to those memories and/or people and resolve those issues proactively.

  • Terrell Green | PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, Uncle Earl, Internet Comedy, Author

Terrell Green had a tough upbringing. His mom suffered from addiction though, and he lost his father at an early age. He grew up listening to comedians like Richard Pryor, who was a major inspiration for him. He was also a top athlete coming out of Edison High School and went to Fresno City College. This is where it turned bad for him, unfortunately, as he saw his best friend get murdered in front of him.

After that incident, he was depressed and suicidal. He stopped playing sports. The guilt weighed on him, as he felt responsible for putting his friend in that situation. He really struggled for a long time, but he was finally able to break out of it. One day, he saw some comedy videos that inspired him to do the same thing, and he was able to find therapy in comedy. He would create characters of people he would see in his neighborhood, for better or worse, and show people what his life was like through this distorted comedic lens.

His comedy videos ended up going viral on Tik Tok, Youtube & social media sites and started getting the attention of some pretty big names. than legendary rapper and entertainment mogul Snoop Dogg, who reposted one of his videos to his millions of followers. He started getting feedback that he was helping other people going through the same problems as he was, and this inspired him to write in his journal.

Finally, he put his plan in motion to start writing his book, "Against All Odds: A Story About How I Became". After that major release, Terrell was able to reach a large number of people struggling with the same things he was, which in turn helped everyone help each other. The feedback on his book has been nothing but positive, and Terrell wants to keep that dialogue with his fans open & make sure anyone that needs help can get the support they need.

  • Toni Becker | Anorexia, Body Dysmorphia, Meth, Recovery, Sobriety, Hope and Tattoos

Growing up, Toni Becker felt intimidated by her family. They were all so beautiful, and Toni felt the pressure to live up to those standards. She always felt like the black sheep & this led to her body dysmorphia & eating disorders early on in her life.

Things started getting out of control in high school, where she felt pressured by her classmates and the media for encouraging the super-thin supermodel look of the early 2000s. She was young & seeking attention, and this naivety fueled her desire to look attractive at all costs. She thought that she could control it, but quickly she realized she couldn't & needed help.

In college, she started experimenting with meth and a drug called "cat" After trying to run her friends over & ending up on a golf course, she went into rehab for the first time. She thought she had it handled, but her father knew she wouldn't commit. He sent her to a real rehab, where she couldn't leave, and finally accepted it and got some help. She lived in a halfway house, and a sober living facility for 2 years and this really helped her stay sober. Now, she's become a sponsor herself & is taking it one day at a time, wanting to share her story to help others.

She realized one day while getting coffee with her friends, "Why don't we start a YouTube channel & share our stories?" And since then, she has been on a mission to destigmatize anorexia, body dysmorphia, bulimia & all the disorders associated with it. She wants to start a discussion & get help for whoever may need it.

  • Terrance ’T. Wrecks” McKinney | Childhood Trauma, Drug Abuse, Dying Twice, MAA, UFC & Sobriety

Terrence McKinney aka T. Wrecks sat down with Jason and Mikey to share his near-death story of substance abuse, redemption, and spiritual progress. Growing up, Terrence lived mostly with his Grandmother. His mother was trying to get her life together & gave him to her in hopes that she would raise him better than she was equipped to at the time. His father was never a part of his life. He was hyperactive and would get in lots of fights. One time his grandmother locked him in a basement for 24 hours. These types of events were traumatic and Terrence didn't deal with them until later.

He started doing drugs and drinking heavily as a teenager to repress the trauma he was experiencing, and this quickly spiraled out of control. One night after taking a lot of mushrooms and other drugs, Terrence woke up in the hospital after being revived by doctors. He had no idea how he got there or what he did, but he knew that he didn't want to do drugs like that anymore.

Turning his fighting into a career seemed like a natural progression for him at the time. Luckily he was able to find discipline in the sport, and this in turn made him more disciplined with how he was treating his body. If he treated his body poorly with drugs and drinking, he couldn't get where he needed to be professionally so this turned out to change his life for the better. He stopped drinking & using drugs altogether, and has since been focused on his mental and physical health.

He realized that he needed to face his trauma & past head-on, so he could deal with it and move on in a healthy way in his life. Now he's finally done that and had to make some very mature decisions about what path he wanted to go down in life. Now, he's one of the UFC's rising stars, with a world-record-setting time of 7 seconds for one of his knockouts. He trains 3 times a day and hopes to continue his path of personal growth and maintain his health.

This is Terrence McKinney in his own words, on Knockin' Doorz Down.

  • Steve Hofstetter | Comedian, Author, Mental Health On the Road, Anxiety, Alcohol & Online Trolls

Growing up, Steve was shy and bullied. He started to use comedy as a way of being the "funny guy" in class and started getting the attention of a girl he liked. This inspired him to do comedy more, and before he knew it he made a career out of it.

Also, the isolation and loneliness that Steve felt on the road, before social media and the internet really took off.

  • Sam Lucania - Author of ”Just Don’t Die”, Trauma, Addiction, Alcohol, Overdoses, Jail Time, Rehab & Recovery Advocate

Sam Lucania talks with Jason and Mikey about his journey to sobriety and what led him down a path of addiction.

Growing up in New Jersey, Sam had a typical upbringing. He was a high-energy kid and had a lot of anxiety. He was also depressed, as a lot of adolescent kids deal with school problems as well as problems at home. To hide all this, he started drinking and using "gateway" drugs like marijuana and alcohol. Eventually, this led to pills & heavy drinking combined.

It started as self-medicating but eventually turned destructive. He was taking very high doses of prescription drugs and drinking heavily. He started to have suicidal thoughts and eventually overdosed. When Sam overdosed, he woke up handcuffed to a gurney and had no idea how he got there. He didn't get the help and counseling he needed after this, thinking he was fine. This led to him breaking and entering and stealing from a friend to support his habit, and being sentenced to jail for 3 years in 2015.

This was the wake-up call he needed and has been active in recovery ever since. Typical sobriety practices didn't work for Sam, so he found his own "holy trinity" of things that keep him sober: his spiritual fitness, physical fitness, and mental fitness. He was first inspired to do public speaking and share his story in hopes of helping someone out that may be going through a similar ordeal.

Now, Sam is an author as well, with his first book just released called "Just Don't Die", which reinforces his belief that you can cure addiction, alcoholism, and other diseases, but you can't cure death. Even if you feel like you're on the brink, you can get help and make a recovery.

When Sonny Mayo was growing up, he had tendencies of manic depression often. He started using drugs and felt like this released him from the anxieties and problems he had in his life. This led him on the path of addiction, and he heavily relied on it; mentally and physically.

Sonny got into treatment at the age of 16 after abusing Dexedrine with a friend of his. He wouldn't eat, wouldn't drink, and pushed everyone that cared about him away. One of his lowest lows around this time was smoking meth in an airplane bathroom during an international flight.

One night he came home to his mother high on acid, claiming he had a message for her and that she should treat him like the messiah. The next day, he was in rehab. He hated it at first & didn't feel like he belonged there. But after a while, it started to connect with him and he finally committed to getting better.

In 2009, Sonny went to recording school in Los Angeles and got his certification for Pro Tools, and has been recording many artists and friends in the Los Angeles area. Since 2014, Sonny has been on the board of directors for Rock To Recovery, which helps to bring music to people in various stages of drug & alcohol recovery, people suffering from PTSD, and other mental health issues. They write songs with the patients, work a lot with veteran organizations, and have written over 21,000 songs so far. We also talk about his music career with Snot, Sevendust, Hed P.E., and more.
