Grace Latter is a writer, influencer, invisible illness haver, feminist and so much more. In this week's episode, we discussed her tumour, bowel surgery, and PTSD alongside her work as a model for brands like Dove and Stay Wild Swim. Grace advocates for a diversity of body types in the popular culture and better representation of people with illness, scars, and disability.
She is an incredibly informed and well-spoken young woman with an agenda to change the conversations we have about illness and our bodies. Grace also recounts how her attitude to her body changed after her diagnosis, during her surgeries, and now, as she navigates living with her condition and loving her body, and speaks about how she is often confronted with the notion of not 'looking' ill and why our concept of ill people must change.
This was a wonderful conversation and Grace's enthusiasm for what she does really shines through.

I'm Sian Crucefix and this is a podcast all about bodies. In each episode, I'll be navigating my relationship with my own body and having honest, inspiring conversations with a plethora of incredible guests. How we think about bodies is shaped by so many things; popular culture, religion, sexuality, relationships with food, disability, mental health...I could go on and on. As a woman who has experienced sexual assault and recovered from an eating disorder, I want to understand how our experiences inform our attitudes towards our own bodies and other people's, and figure out how we can rectify the negativity, shame and stigma directed at specific bodies that plague today's society.
