Fading Memories: Alzheimer's/Dementia Caregiver Support

Knowledge is a Caregivers Best Friend

Listen Later

Knowledge is a caregiver's best friend.

Lacking the knowledge of how to best care for someone with Alzheimer's is common for most family caregivers. Each person is unique, and the disease affects them in their own ways. The differences in how each person reacts to their condition make it more challenging to get solid advice from other caregivers.

I advocate for learning all you can and getting help as early as possible. However, that is a monumental task by itself. What is the best path forward for gaining the needed knowledge? How do we find and manage the help we're going to need? Where do we start?

There are many ways to achieve this goal, and this episode discusses a highly comprehensive one. Online learning, combined with one-on-one coaching, is one option you'll surely want to consider.

One positive result of the pandemic lockdowns is the proliferation of online training.  Logging in to the Alzheimer's Association website (www.alz.org) you will find many classes you now can take online. If you're looking for something more comprehensive with some personalized coaching, then you must check out Caregiver Chronicles online training course.  Utilizing their service gives you the best of all options.
