  • 5/8/16 - 1PM - Top of the Hour Newscast
    The Reno Fire Department responded to a call of a man who either jumped or fell into the Truckee River just after 9 p.m. last night. Reno and Sparks fire along with the Washoe County Sheriff Office and Reno pd all responded and spent several hours searching the river. The search was called off late last night and resumed around 9:30 am this morning. So far searchers have gone from the Virginia Street bridge almost to Rock Park and have not found anyone.

  • 5/6/16 11 PM - Top of the Hour Newscast
    Washoe County detectives are investigating the death of a Lemmon Valley teenager, after he and another boy were found unresponsive Thursday night in a house on Ramsey Way. Detectives had few details. Spokesman Bob Harmon says one of the teenagers was dead at the scene. The second was hospitalized. Harmon did not have any information about his condition. He also refused to characterize the death, but says they are awaiting toxicology results. Counseling is being offered to North Valleys High School Students.

    Marnell Gaming is officially the new owner of the Nugget Casino Resort in Sparks. The sale closed Friday. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Anthony Marnell III plans to spend $25 million dollars to renovate and improve the Nugget over the next 18-24 months. He is planning renovations for the property’s two hotel towers and its convention center. Many of the casino’s 1,000 slot machines will also be replaced. The property’s name will remain. The Nugget’s premier special events, including Star Spangled Sparks and the Best in the West Nugget Rib Cook-Off will continue. The Nugget’s new leadership also plans to continue providing Thanksgiving and Christmas meals to St. Vincent’s Dining Room.

  • 5/6/16 9 PM - Top of the Hour Newscast
    The offices of Storey County Commissioner Lance Gilman announced today that Commissioner Gilman and the Nevada Ethics Commission entered into a stipulation with a finding of "No ethical violations," against him in a complaint made by the Storey County Sheriff. Gilman says he is thankful to the Ethics Commission and their staff for not only conducting a full and fair investigation of the claims, but also for their work on behalf of the citizens of Nevada.
