Nevada is requesting 11.3 million dollars from the federal government in hopes of continuing the Children's Health Insurance Program. CHIP is a public health insurance program that helps 27,000 children of low-income parents, but funds officially ran out in September. On Friday the state asked the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services for unspent federal allotments from prior years, to continue running CHIP until February.

The warning has been issued in nine states including Nevada, California, and Utah. The company is telling its customer to look for packages of white meat chicken salad, curried white chicken deli salad and turkey cranberry apple salad that expire from November 10th to the 21st could be contaminated. The chain is urging customers to discard the products or return them for a refund.

The Carson Flag Store is offering bows for ten dollars each to further help the families of the seven high school students injured in a car crash last week in Carson City. All proceeds will go towards helping the students. Those who purchase the bows are encouraged to decorate their offices and yards. You can pick up the bows between 8:30 a-m to 5 p-m Monday through Friday at the store 36-88 Research Way in Carson. The store also is looking for volunteers to help make the bows. Reno Police have made two arrests in the case of Luz Linarez Castillo, who was found shot to death in a car Nov. 2nd near Parkview and Mazzone Ave.

Reno Police have made two arrests in the shooting death of Luz Linarez Castillo, who was found shot to death in a car Nov. 2nd. In custody are 26 year old Richard Silva Guzman and 18 year old Yiovannie Guzman, both of Sparks. Police say the two men have confessed.

The mental patient who admits killing a woman nearly 40 years ago says he escaped from a Hawaii psychiatric hospital to prove that he could behave properly out in the community. Randall Saito says the Hawaii State Hospital wouldn't give him a chance. He told KGO TV in San Francisco, each time he applied for release, officials made him "sound like a bad guy." So he plotted an escape, which he carried out Sunday. He walked out of the hospital, got a taxi to the airport and took a chartered plane to Maui, where he caught another flight to San Jose, California. Saito was captured Wednesday in Stockton after authorities got a tip from a taxi driver. Some reports say he was headed for Reno.
