Two people were killed and others were injured in a mining accident in Humboldt County Tuesday. According to Humboldt County Sheriff Mike Allen, the Marigold Mine in Valmy, west of Battle Mountain, issued a mayday call around 2:15 Tuesday afternoon.

Prater Way and Pullman Drive were shut down in all directions last night after an injury crash. Sparks Police say an officer pulled over a motorcyclist for a traffic violation, but the motorcyclist sped away at up to 90 miles per hour.

Fire crews responded to At least eight brush fires Tuesday along Highway 395 near Parr Boulevard north of Reno. Six engines responded and for a time one traffic lane was shutdown.
