Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies have arrested a suspect who allegedly shot at a vehicle in Carson City early Saturday morning. 36-year-old Travis Donald Mickelson was arrested at an undisclosed location in Lyon County. Mickelson is being held at the Carson City Jail on a charge of attempted murder, battery with a deadly weapon with substantial bodily harm, and assault with a deadly weapon. One of the five people in the car that Mickelson allegedly shot at was injured and taken to Renown. The identity of that person has not been released.

There were a number of accidents involving motorcycles yesterday. Just before noon Saturday, one rider died on US-50 EB below Spooner Summit. According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, speed may have been a factor. The motorcyclist skidded into the guardrail. The right lane was closed for an extended time while the crash was investigated.

A little after noon, two motorcycles went down on SB 580 near Eastlake Boulevard. The two right lanes were closed, but the riders suffered only minor injuries.

Then about 3:15 on Geiger Grade - a Toyota Prius turned into the path of a motorcycle carrying one passenger. Both riders were here from California for Street Vibrations. The driver had road rash and bruises severe enough that NHP called CareFlight in. The female passenger had minor injuries.

Carson City Sheriffs are reaching out to local residents with their very first "Coffee with a Cop" event next week.

Coffee with a Cop is October 4th from 11:30am until 1pm, at Dunkin Donuts at 21-90 East William Street.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is investigating a battery with a deadly weapon incident that happened this morning around 3am. Five victims left the AM/PM near Lompa Lane and Highway 50 when their vehicle was shot at multiple times by a man in a blue minivan.
