There were a number of accidents involving motorcycles yesterday. Just before noon Saturday, one rider died on US-50 EB below Spooner Summit. According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, speed may have been a factor. The motorcyclist skidded into the guardrail. The right lane was closed for an extended time while the crash was investigated.
A little after noon, two motorcycles went down on SB 580 near Eastlake Boulevard. The two right lanes were closed, but the riders suffered only minor injuries.
Then about 3:15 on Geiger Grade - a Toyota Prius turned into the path of a motorcycle carrying one passenger. Both riders were here from California for Street Vibrations. The driver had road rash and bruises severe enough that NHP called CareFlight in. The female passenger had minor injuries.
