Eric Buhl has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the death of the two-year-old left in his care. He told Carson City Judge James Wilson the internal injuries suffered by the child- a lacerated heart, liver and pancreas, were due to CPR he administered when the child began choking. The prosecutor said in court that the medical examiner disagrees, the child died of internal injuries from being beaten. The plea follows an agreement not to seek the death penalty. Buhl could get life with or without parole, or could get 50 years in prison with parole possible after 20 years.
