Reno Police are investigating a shooting in northwest Reno that has hospitalized one man. They were called to a report of a shooting in the five-thousand block of Rainbow Ridge Court at about 4:30 this afternoon. Officers say two men who live in the house got into an argument and one reportedly shot the other. The man who was shot was taken to a local hospital. There are no reports on the extent of his injury, however police say he appeared in stable condition when taken to the hospital. Police have not said if the other man has been arrested nor have they provided any further information.

The Reno Police Department is asking for the public’s help finding a woman it believes took advantage of a traffic accident to rob the victim. The incident happened around 10:50 a.m. Saturday, in the area of Shopper’s Square at Plumb Lane and South Virginia Street. Police say the victim had a medical emergency and that caused a traffic accident. Police describe the robber as black, possibly in her late teens or early 20s and wearing a multi-colored tank top and white jeans. Anyone with information is asked to call Reno police or Secret Witness. Secret Witness is offering $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect.

Washoe County Treasurer, Tammi Davis, is reminding property owners that Monday, October 2nd, is the due date for the second installment of 2017/18 property taxes. Payments will be accepted without penalty through October 12th.
