A Reno man has been sentenced to forty years in prison after being found guilty in a machete attack on his roommate last December. Forty-six year old Celestin Glenn Tappin was found guilty on April 27th of attempted murder, battery causing substantial bodily harm and mayhem, all with the use of a deadly weapon. Last December 22nd, Tappin went to his parents' home and, while drunk, talked about a murder at his home. Police rushed to the locaton and found Tappin's roommate bleeding heavily from multiple wounds. Investigators determined that Tappin and the roommate got into an argument and Tappin attacked the roommate with a machete. He will serve at least 16 years before he can be paroled.
