The most active fire today is still the Long Valley Fire, 6 miles north of Doyle up US-395 from Reno. It started Tuesday and is over 41,000 acres which is almost 65 sq mi and is only 20% contained.

The Bureau of Land Management will implement fire restrictions for public lands managed by the BLM in Lassen, Modoc, Plumas, Sierra, Shasta and Siskiyou counties in California, and in Washoe County, Nevada. The restrictions go into effect Monday until further notice.

Washoe County Search & Rescue is on the ground in the Rancho Haven area north of Reno, explaining the situation with the fast-moving Long Valley Fire. Right now, it's a voluntary evacuation. The fire is up to 41,000 acres and is only 20% contained.
