Officials with the U-S Forest Service say the Hunter Creek Fire was was fully contained last night at about 8:00 o'clock. They say engine crews with the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest will continue active patrol of the area throughout this week. Firefighters say there are no active flames within the perimeter of the fire. The fire began early in the afternoon last Thursday and has burned 240 acres of brush, grass and timber. The Lahontan Fire burning in Churchill County has also been fully contained.

Governor Brian Sandoval says the Senate's version of the health care bill is bad for residents, and will blow a hole in the state budget.

The Sparks Fire Department is attacking a structure fire at the Lansdowne Apartments on Sullivan Lane behind the K-Mart on Oddie.

Three people jumped out of a second-story window during an apartment fire in Sparks this afternoon, and two were transported with minor injuries.
