The Hunter Creek Fire broke out Thursday afternoon in west of Reno, and sent plumes of smoke into the sky. The fire is not threatening homes, but it is in rugged steep terrain, according to Truckee Meadows Fire Chief Charlie Moore.....

The Hunter Creek Trail fire in west Reno is at 250 acres and 35 percent contained. Firefighters are going after the fire with more air drops and hand crews. The blaze began approximately 500 yards from the Hunter Creek trailhead. The cause has not been determined.....
