N-Dot starting a road improvement project today to reconstruct and improve Glendale Avenue. About two and a half miles of Glendale Avenue and Second Street between Kietzke Lane and east McCarran Boulevard will be reconstructed and repaved. Over the next two days, minor roadside lane, shoulder and median closures will take place as construction starts. Beginning Wednesday through late 2017, sections of the road will be reduced to one lane in each direction. Through summer, certain turns between Glendale Avenue and Rock Boulevard or Galletti Way will periodically be prohibited, as the intersections are reconstructed and a new concrete road surface placed.

Reno police reported to Jub Jub's Thrist parlor on Wells Ave around 11:30 pm last night (Saturday) to reports of shots fired. They found several shell casings on scene along with a vehicle with bullet holes in it. Police say there are no apparent victims and are looking to speak to anyone with information about the shooting; witnesses are asked to call 334-2141.
