The Carson City Sheriff's Office says a citizen helped authorities locate a man who was the subject of a Silver Alert on Saturday. Larry Hicks, 74, was found around 11:30 p.m. last night. Ground and Air Search and Rescue teams from Carson City combed the rural terrains of Carson and Douglas counties Saturday, but were unable to locate Hicks or his vehicle. A citizen saw the Silver Alert that had been issued and notified authorities about Hicks' whereabouts. Other then being dehydrated Hicks was not injured.

The American Red Cross is assisting a family, after an attic fire in Spanish Springs this morning, left their home uninhabitable. The Sparks Fire Department responded to the fire in the 5100 block of Canyon Run Drive at about 9:30 a.m. Several people were evacuated along with four dogs and two cats. Twenty firefighters and five fire engines were brought in to fight the blaze and by 10:30 a.m. one truck was left to do mop up. Part of a ceiling came down on a firefighter during the operation... but no one has been reported injured. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Reno police reported to Jub Jub's Thrist parlor on Wells Ave around 11:30 pm last night to reports of shots fired. They found several shell casings on scene along with a vehicle with bullet holes in it. Police say there are no apparent victims and are looking to speak to anyone with information about the shooting; witnesses are asked to call 334-2141.
