The Reno Police Department's gang unit is investigating a shooting this evening that killed one person. Police say they got a call at about 8:44 this evening of a shooting in the 400 block of Smithridge Park south of Peckham Lane. Officers arrived to find one person dead at the scene. Police say another gunshot victim was found nearby on Neil Road and Peckham however they say that person suffered superficial wounds. Police say they believe that second person was also shot at the same location on Smithridge. Witnesses report seeing a blue car leaving the scene. Police are currently looking for suspects. The area on Smithridge Park is closed to traffic. No further details have yet been released.

The Reno Police Department's gang unit is investigating a shooting yesterday evening that killed one person. Police say they got a call at 8:44 last night of a shooting in the 400 block of Smithridge Park, south of Peckham.

Robert Reasoner, a supervising investigator with the Nevada Transportation Authority, who allegedly drove his state-owned vehicle into a car parked on a Carson City street and fled the scene, has resigned. Turns out he had a record of DUI arrests, at least two of them after he went to work for the state.
