A call about an armed robbery quickly escalated to an officer involved shooting after the suspect led Reno police on a foot chase through downtown Thursday.

Flooding in Lemmon Valley is affecting at least 20 homes, and others are threatened, as local lakes, Silver and Swan, overflow their banks.

Washoe County Manager John Slaughter yesterday signed a Declaration of Emergency due to the ongoing flooding issues throughout the County, including areas in the North Valleys, Lemmon Valley, Palomino Valley, and Rancho Haven.

Washoe County may have to declare a state of emergency over flooding in Lemmon Valley. Water continues to overfill local lakes, and has no where else to go.

Calling the lawsuit, "Meritless" and "Political." Senator Majority Leader Aaron Ford is sticking up for republican Heidi Gansert. Ford says the NPRI lawsuit against her is misguided and there's nothing wrong about Gansert holding a post at the University of Nevada, while serving in the state senate. Says Ford, "She is not exercising the powers or functions “appertaining” exclusively to the executive branch in her job. She is doing outreach work for one of our fine public universities, and she should be commended and encouraged in that work."
