A flash flood warning has been issued by the National Weather Service in Reno, in anticipation of failure of the South Dayton Retention Pond. Lyon County is advising residents in the area of Dayton Valley Road, known as the Ranchos, that the retention basin has 2-3 feet left before water flows over the top.
