Residents of a Reno condo complex are asking for help finding the people who took two trees that will cost about $1,000 to replace.

Governor Brian Sandoval has signed a letter to President Trump, requesting that he declare a major disaster for the State of Nevada as a result of widespread flooding in January. Affected regions include the counties of Washoe, Douglas, Lyon, and Storey, Carson City, the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony, the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe and the Washoe Tribe of Nevada, which includes the communities of Carson, Dresslerville, Stewart, and Woodfords. The official damage assessment is $14.82 million.

A man is in jail after a a police pursuit yesterday in Sparks. Sparks Police got a call about an apparently intoxicated driver at Vista and Wingfield Hills. Officers found the vehicle and say they recognized it as a vehicle involved in a pursuit two weeks ago. Police say the vehicle sped off on Disc Drive but was pulled over near Pyramid Highway. Police say Adam Paxton attempted to run off, but was quickly caught. Officers say he was under the influence of drugs when he was arrested. They also say they found a stolen firearm under the driver's seat of the vehicle. Paxton has been charged with a variety of crimes, including eluding, driving under the influence and. an ex-felon in possession of a firearm

The Carson River crested in the capital city at about a foot over flood stage, Saturday at about midnight. In addition to the residential area on the west side of town and a golf course, the Carson Mall parking lot was submerged under 2 feet of water. Officials are saying this latest event is even worse than the flooding in January, which was estimated to cause over $3-million in damage. Fire officials will be assessing the damage today and tomorrow and should have a report by next week.

It's going to be rough going if you're heading into South Lake Tahoe via Highway 50, or if you're traveling into California on I-80 this week, as the Nevada Department of Transportation is planning a lot of roadwork to fix damage caused by recent storms.

Expect lane closures to continue on Interstate 80 west of Reno as the Nevada Department of Transportation repairs storm-related potholes, and cleans debris and fallen rocks from roadside shoulders. Today till about 5PM, Westbound I-80 will be reduced to one lane between Robb Drive and Mogul for repair of potholes on bridge driving surfaces. Eastbound I-80 is down to one lane between Garson Road and Verdi exit 5 to clean roadside ditches and repair roadside shoulders and drainage.

Residents of a Reno condo complex are asking for help finding the people who took two trees that will cost about $1,000 to replace. Since the beginning of February two pine trees at Edge Water at Virginia Lake, have been cut down without permission from the property's owner. Each tree was eight to ten feet tall. J Witt, owner of Edge Water, says this is destruction of property and a public safety issue. They have filed a police report, and are offering a reward for the arrest and prosecution of the responsible party. Officials have ordered residents near the Oroville Dam north of Yuba City to evacuate the area. They say a "hazardous situation is developing" after an emergency spillway severely eroded. The Butte County Sheriff's Office says the emergency spillway could fail within an hour unleashing uncontrolled flood waters from Lake Oroville. The department says people in downstream areas need to leave the area immediately. It says residents of Oroville should head north toward Chico. Water began flowing over the emergency spillway at dam on Saturday for the first time in its nearly 50-year history after heavy rainfall.
