Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve delivered her State of the City address last night and says thousands of people have been working on the city's master plan scheduled for adoption sometime this summer. She says it's the key to well managed growth and will determine what the city will look like over the next 20 years:

Washoe County Manager John Slaughter signed a termination of the Emergency Flood Declaration that was initiated by the Board of County Commissioners January 6th. Slaughter says the conditions causing the declared emergency no longer exist, and are now within the control of Washoe County’s normal protective services, personnel, equipment and facilities, Slaughter thanked the cities of Reno and Sparks, other regional partners, and the state of Nevada for working with Washoe County during this prolonged period of inclement weather to provide the resources needed to ensure the safety of our citizens.

Demonizing the idea of "America First" won't work. That's according to George Harris of Nevadans for Sound Government. He says there is nothing negative about it, and it has a whole new meaning-- far different from the isolationism of the 1930's.
