The Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County is working with a UNR research team on their Intelligent Mobility project, installing technology on some of our electric buses that tracks data on self driving vehicles.

Reno police have two people in custody after an incident on Gypsum Road north of the University of Nevada, Reno. Around 3 p.m. a man went outside his home, fired a shotgun into the air and then went back inside. Police responded and had the man come outside. He did and he cooperated. Police took the man and a woman into custody. No injuries were reported.

Two people died yesterday in shootings in northeast Reno and west Sparks, and police believe the cases are related. The Reno shootings happened around 1:30 a.m. on McCarran Boulevard between Sutro Street and Clear Acre Lane. One person died in that incident and several others were injured. The Sparks shooting happened on the 2600 block of Cygnet Circle soon after. There are no suspects at this time and the identities of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The National Weather Service says this storm that is hitting the Sierra and Northwestern Nevada is expected to continue until 4:00 tomorrow morning. Weather Service forecasters say we can expect accumulations of as much as five inches, although if conditions continue as they are right now, it could be much more. Some weather forecasts say Heavy snow is expected to impact Northwestern Nevada with 14 to 18 inches south through the Carson Valley and 1 to 2 feet in foothill areas including Virginia City. The Weather Service also says a couple more feet of snow is possible in the Sierra Nevada mountain range by Monday.

The Washoe County School District says All Incline schools will be CLOSED tomorrow and All other WCSD schools will observe a TWO-HOUR DELAY.

All Truckee Meadows Community College sites will open at 10 tomorrow morning, weather permitting. Since Monday is the first day of spring classes at TMCC. All classes scheduled before 10 a.m. are cancelled for Monday.

Classes at UNR will not begin until 10 tomorrow morning.
