The storms will be a big help for the recovery of plants and animals that live along the Truckee River and the Sierra, following 4 years of drought. Bears and other animals will have lots of forage in the back country, so we may not see them as much in neighborhoods looking for food.

The Sparks PD and Reno PD responded to reports of shootings early this morning around 1:30. The locations varied from McCarran & Sutro in Reno to Cygnet Circle in Sparks. Two deceased victims were located, one in Reno and one in Sparks.

Sun Valley has 4 four elementary schools, and no middle schools. The Washoe County School District is laying the ground work to get one built by 2018. Sun Valley students are now required to attend schools as far away as Spanish Springs and Sparks.

The South Lake Tahoe Police Department is warning people about a scam in which people call and claim to be working for Microsoft. The callers then convince the targets to allow the scammers to control their computer remotely. They then use information obtained for the victim's computer to drain their bank account.
