Treasury Secretary Nominee Steve Mnuchin got a bit of a scolding from Senator Dean Heller, for repeatedly failing to answer basic questions about the foreclosure activity in Nevada of a bank he owned called "One West," which apparently aggressively foreclosed on many Nevadans during the housing meltdown.

Slippery conditions around northern Nevada, with a lot of new snow, and apparently even more is on the way. A winter weather advisory is in effect for the greater Reno, Carson City and Minden areas through 10 p.m. and then a Winter Storm Watch Saturday and Sunday with several feet of snow in the high country, and several inches on valley floors. Plan your travel accordingly.

NV Energy has staged multiple crews, troublemen and heavy equipment in potentially hard to reach areas of northern Nevada to improve response time to outages, as more snow storms are expected.

Heavy police activity at Wells and Crampton, you're going to want to avoid that area, Reno police have made an arrest of a wanted fugitive, and another person, and are searching a home on Crampton apparently looking for a third person. No shots were fired. No injuries reported

Conditions are improving for the Pyramid Lake Pauite Tribe as they recover from flooding. A boil water order has been lifted in Sutcliffe after followup tests showed the water is safe to drink. Locals are also being piloted onto state route 446 which was heavily damaged, and remains closed to non local traffic.

A California man was arrested after a chase south of Reno late this morning. NHP Troopers say a person called about a couple fighting inside a car, around 10:00 this morning. The same vehicle was later spotted at I-580 and Mt. Rose south, but the vehicle did not stop, exiting in Washoe Valley and getting onto Eastlake and Highway 580 north. That's where at NHP sergeant forced the vehicle off the roadway and the man got out and ran across 580 into a nearby field. Other officers caught him and took him into custody 36 year old Tyrone Preciado Sr, is suspected of driving while impaired, and will face a variety of charges.
