Another medical marijuana dispensary had their grand opening this week. Blum Dispensary opened up in the old Spy Shop on South Virginia in the midtown area.

Carson City used the break in winter weather to address the recovery process. Public Works is leading teams to assess the damage. In the last several weeks, Carson City has seen a pattern of freeze-thaw temperatures which resulted in pavement cracks and previously filled potholes to break apart and raise, allowing water to enter the sub pavement. Repairs will soon begin in all identified areas, depending on factors including severity, upcoming weather and workload priority.

In the meantime use caution when driving over a puddle of water or snow because it might be a pothole in hiding. Public Works urges residents and visitors to use caution while driving on West Washington Street, Mountain Street, Fairview Drive, Carson Street, West Winnie Lane, Stewart Street, and Saliman Street.

The National Weather Center says another atmospheric river will hit our area next week, likely Wednesday into Thursday. And after all the snow that we've seen in the Truckee Meadows, the forecast is not good news.

Adam Mayberry with the Sparks Emergency Management team says conditions have improved a lot after the past weeks flood challeges, but this all may not be over.

A 23-year-old Reno man has been arrested for fatally shooting another man about 1:15 am this morning. RPD was called to a hotel room in the 1000 block of East 6th St. on a report of a shooting. Deandre Richie claimed that he had accidentally shot the victim while manipulating the gun.
