The City of Reno administrative offices, Sparks City Hall, Administrative offices at the Washoe County Complex are closed today in continued observance of the Christmas holiday.

Flights continue to increase in all directions out of the Reno-Tahoe International Airport.

Glendale Ave. at about 8 a.m. The man, described as white and wearing a mask and coveralls, drove a white 1990s Ford pickup truck with a gray stripe and no tailgate Anyone with information is asked to call Secret Witness at 322-4900.

A water main is leaking on Oregon Boulevard in Lemmon Valley and the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District is asking drivers to avoid the area. There is no estimate when the road will reopen.

The Sparks Fire Department responded to the report of a fire alarm at Sparks High School 9:30 this morning. They said the classroom where the alarm went off was filled with what appeared to be smoke. After additional investigation they found a wall mounted heater unit was putting out a large amount of steam. The heater unit had a ruptured steam line and there was no fire. Officials say school maintenance arrived and helped with shutting down the boiler unit and the power to the classroom. No injuries were reported.

Outgoing senator Harry Reid says he's been offered several jobs, and will decide in coming weeks what he'll do after retiring from his 34-year stint in Congress. Reid says he's been approached by law firms, and Nevada companies. He plans to maintain a home in Washington D.C. and cited the area's high-quality health care, but he also says he'd spend more time in Nevada when his term ends January 3rd. The senior senator says his biggest regret in Congress was voting for the Iraq War, which he calls the most disastrous foreign policy position in the country's history.

Sparks Police are looking for a young man who tried to steal at least three vehicles from a Gault Way residence. Police were called to a report of an auto theft at about 7:00 this (Sunday) morning in the 200 block of Gault Way. The victim's security system captured video of the suspect as he unsuccessfully tried to break into two vehicles parked in the driveway. He then was able to get into a work van that was open. He managed to get the van started, but slammed into a parked vehicle as he drove away. He then left the area on foot. The suspect is a white man about 18 to 24 years old.
