The Washoe County Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery in Lemmon Valley. Around 3:30 this morning, three masked men walked into the 7-Eleven on Lemmon Drive and robbed the clerk at gunpoint. Deputies say the suspects are white, in their twenties with thin builds. Deputies say one shot was fired during the incident but no one was injured.

A Reno man convicted of sexual assault and exploitation against a female relative, has been sentenced to life in prison.

Officials with the Reno Police Department say the driver reportedly involved in the hit and run of a pedestrian Saturday night has turned himself in to the department early Sunday afternoon. Police say he's 26-year-old Brian Pippen of California. They say it's believed alcohol and marijuana were factors in the crash. Pippen has been charged with Felony hit and run, Failure to yield the right of way to a pedestrian, and Driving without a valid driver's license. The victim remains in critical condition with life threatening injuries. That person's identity has not been released.

Reno Police are investigating a robbery connected to a popular website. Police say the victim was robbed at gunpoint after meeting someone who responded to an ad they had posted on Letgo.com, a site used to sell items, similar to Craigslist. The Reno Police Department urges users of this or similar sites to exercise caution and consider meeting with perspective buyers in a well lit public place, and always bring someone with you. Secret Witness is offering a $1,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect.

State Senator Patricia Farley is changing her party affiliation from Republican to "nonpartisan, " and will caucus with Democrats in the 2017 Legislative session. Farley served as a Republican for her first two years in office. Farley, who represents District 8, says she's choosing to serve as an independent in the 2017 session because her constituents come before party labels, and she believes this is the best way to represent them.

An NHP Trooper tased a man holding a 14 inch long knife Sunday. Steven Mumper had pulled up behind the trooper, who was completing a traffic stop. The Trooper approached Mumper as he was opening his trunk, and asked himwhat was going on, that's when Mumper pulled the knife out, and refused to drop it. At one point he was walking away, while hitting road signs with the knife. The trooper called for backup, then fired the taser hitting Mumper in the back. He was then subdued by other troopers. Mumper was hospitalized for evaluation.
