The Reno Police Department says some help from the public led to the arrest of a Reno man on two counts of attempted robbery and two counts of attempted burglary. 50 year old Troy Dittmer was booked into the Washoe County jail. Dittmer allegedly tried to rob a check cashing business on Warren Way about 3 p.m. Wednesday, while armed with a stun gun. He didn't get any money, and was seen leaving in a white Chrysler Pacifica. At 3:30 p.m. there was a report of citizens detaining a robbery suspect in the 300 block of East Plumb Lane. Police arrived to find Dittmer being held down by two citizens, who grabbed him despite being zapped by the stun gun.

A federal judge in Las Vegas has yet to rule on a request from Democrats asking that he issue a restraining order telling Trump supporters not to harass voters at polls in Nevada. U.S. District Judge Richard Boulware heard more than three hours of arguments yesterday from lawyers for the Democratic Party and an attorney for the Nevada Republican Party. The judge says he wants to make a decision by the weekend. First, he wants sworn testimony today from a Trump campaign official who heads Nevada poll-watcher training about whether people are being fully explained the state laws they have to follow. The Nevada lawsuit is one of four filed in states that include Arizona, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

A federal judge in Las Vegas says he has not seen any evidence that Donald Trump's presidential campaign is training people to intimidate voters in Nevada, and he sees no need for a restraining order that Democrats have been seeking. U.S. District Judge Richard Boulware's comments came after Nevada's top Trump election day operations chief testified that this (Thursday) morning he emailed the more than 100 people he's trained as poll-watchers about rules they have to follow if they challenge a voter's eligibility.The judge says he'll hold a hearing on Tuesday, election day, if any reports arise of any voter harassment at the polls.

Sparks Police are looking for the vehicle and driver involved in a hit and run crash early Thursday morning on 5th street. The suspect vehicle is described as an early 90’s white Ford Bronco. Sparks police say the vehicle struck three parked vehicles, causing noticible damage to two of them. The suspect vehicle was last seen northbound on 5th Street. Secret Witness is offering a 500 dollar reward for the arrest and prosecution of the suspect.

Deputies with the Lyon County's sheriff's office were called to reports of shots fired at the M-S-C Industrial Direct on East Newlands Road in Fernley a little after seven this evening. Our News partner, KOLO Eight News Now says they've received reports that one person is dead and another is the hospital. The sheriff's office has not released the names of any of those involved in the incident. Investigators are trying to determine what led to the shooting. The condition of the wounded person has not yet been disclosed. Investigators are in the process of investigating the shooting and interviewing witnesses.
