The motorcyclist killed in a collision with a pickup truck Saturday afternoon near Dayton has been identified as Richard Williams, 51, of Reno. Williams was driving east in the Six Mile Canyon area of Mark Twain Estates east of Dayton at about 3:05 p.m. when he failed to stay in his lane and collided head on with a pickup truck driven by Kevin Storms, 45, of Dayton. The impact caused the motorcycle to catch fire and both vehicles burned before the Central Lyon Fire Protection District put it out. Williams was pronounced dead on scene and Storms received minor injuries. The accident remains under investigation.

A man is being treated for gunshot wounds following a shooting related to a large party in the area of Bunker Hill Lane early this morning. Sparks Police were called to a report of a shooting in the area a little after 2:00. They found a 22-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds who was taken to a nearby hospital. His wounds are not considered life threatening. Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect in this shooting.

Firefighters have stopped progress of the Frontage fire burning south of Gardnerville along U-S 395 and the roadway has been reopened. The blaze was stopped at about 75 acres, but not before burning one home and three outbuildings. The Douglas County Sheriff's office says a voluntary evacuation for the Ruhenstroth area has been lifted. East Fork Fire Protection District Deputy Chief Dave Fogerson says firefighters were helped by light rain, a decrease in winds and cooler temperatures. The cause has not been determined, but investigators say the fire may have been human-caused.

Reno Police are investigating a shooting Saturday morning on West Commercial Row that has left one person in the hospital in critical condition. Police received multiple reports of numerous gunshots near the One Up Bar at about 5:30 yesterday morning. Officers arrived at the location and found one person with multiple gunshot wounds in a nearby alley. The victim was taken to a local hospital where they are listed in stable... but critical condition. Police say it is not known how many people may have been involved and there are no suspect descriptions.
