However, in an interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal last week, Stephen Siegel, owner of the Siegel Group, said downtown Reno's $1 billion redevelopment project will never happen. Michael Crandall, senior vice president of the Siegel Group wrote in an email,"The buyers sent someone else to purchase the property from us, they did not want us to know it was them because they were concerned the purchase price would go up if we knew they were buying the properties as part of their billion dollar development."

Reno’s iconic arch is getting a makeover. The Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority board of directors voted unanimously on Thursday to approve $87,500 in funding to restore and upgrade the landmark. The money from the RSCVA was the final piece required to move the project forward. This funding represents half of the total cost for the project, with the City of Reno pitching in the remaining amount. The City of Reno hopes to start work on arch at the beginning of 2017.

Sparks Police are searching for a missing teenager who was last seen Thursday afternoon at Hug High School. Rhonda Towe is a 17-year-old who is considered missing and endangered. Towe was last seen in her seventh period class at school. She was to board a Citifare bus from Hug High School to her home in Sparks. Her guardian contacted police at 6:23 p.m. when she failed to arrive home. Officers contacted school officials and determined Towe did attend all of her scheduled classes for the day, but never boarded a citifare bus at the end of the day. She was seen by school officials late in the day and described as upset and crying. Towe has a diminished mental capacity which places her at risk. She is described as 5 feet 4 inches tall and 200 pounds. She has strawberry red hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a forest green Hug High School T-shirt with her name on it, pink pants and a blue, black and gray backpack. Sparks Police are asking for the public's help in locating a 17-year-old girl who is missing and considered endangered. Police say Rhonda Towe attended classes at Hug High School today, however failed to get on a Citifare bus after school in order to gethome. She reportedly did not take any other buses available from the school. School officials who saw her later in the day say she was upset and crying. The girl has a diminished mental capacity which places her at risk. She does not use social media nor does she have a phone. She's five foot four inches tall and weighs two hundred pounds. She has red hair and brown eyes. When last seen she was wearing a forest green Hug High tee shirt with her name on it, pink pants and a blue, black and grey backpack.
