The Reno Police Department backed up the Fire Department in an incident at the Lakeridge East apartments about 11:45 am Saturday.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office reports a 4-year-old boy was found Sunday in a hot tub at the Mountbleu Resort Casino & Spa. The sheriff’s office received the emergency call just before 1:30 in the afternoon. The toddler was taken to Barton Memorial Hospital as medics attempted cardiopulmonary resuscitation, but he was declared dead. The family of the baby was visiting from Redwood City, California. According to investigators the incident appears to be an accident....

The Carson City School District reports that all samples taken from water fountains and fixtures at school sites had lead levels well below the "project Action Level" for drinking water. The water quality threshold for lead in drinking water is expressed as an Action Level, which in this case is 20 micrograms per liter or higher also known as parts per billio).

The school district voluntarily partnered with the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP) to explore the potential for lead in drinking water and food preparation areas of its elementary schools.....
