A Fernley man has been sentenced to life in prison with a parole possibility after pleading guilty to killing a two-year-old in 2015.

Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval today announced that he and First Lady Kathleen Sandoval are separating with plans to divorce. The Governor and his wife have been married for 27 years.

The Carson City Sheriff's Department says they've seen a drop in major crimes like murder and rape, so far this year. Crimes like these are down 6% from 2016, and 8% when compared to 2015.
