The California Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation into a crash that killed two Reno teenagers last Friday night.

The peak summer travel season is here, and the Reno Tahoe International Airport is looking to staff a new airport police officer, a manager of economic development, and a facilities custodian.

The Nevada Secretary of State has responded to a U.S. senator who raised concerns about shady shell companies in light of the Panama Papers leak. Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske sent a letter Thursday detailing her office's role in business incorporations and noting that law enforcement hasn't requested ownership lists for suspicious businesses registered in Nevada in the past three years. The issue of shell companies has been in the spotlight since early April, when stories were published after a massive leak of documents belonging to Panamanian law firm Mossack Fonseca.

A Citifare bus driver is dead after an accident in Stead Friday. The two-vehicle crash between the bus and a small passenger car happened in the area of Silver Lake and Silver Sky just after 7:30 Friday evening. While the bus driver and the driver of the second vehicle were exchanging information, a third vehicle barreled into the driver. Police say it appears the setting sun made visibility poor for all drivers headed west. The RTC and MV transit released a statement saying they are deeply saddened by this tragic news and that their thoughts and prayers are with the family of the bus driver, and fellow coach operators.

A 33-year-old female rock climber from Truckee was rescued from Snowshed Wall near Donner Summit after falling. California Hwy Patrol reports the woman was the lead rock climber while climbing the Nova Express. During the climb, officials say she fell and sustained major injuries. Truckee Fire personnel were able to rescue her. She was flown to the parking lot of the Sugarbowl ski resort and transferred to a CalStar helicopter that was waiting to fly her to a trauma center. She was admitted to Renown for treatment.

The Reno Fire Department responded to a fire at Crest Inn on 4th street near Arlington Avenue around 3:00 a.m. this morning. According to officials, the fire started in one room and left minor damages. One person is displaced from their room, but all other guests should be able to return to their rooms shortly. No injuries have been reported so far, and cause is still under investigation. The fire was quickly contained.
