Alright everyone!
it took awhile to get this idea together but its finally here and i am so excited!!
The volume academy podcast is an ever changing thing full of opportunities to speak with people
that i am working with now or... in the past. this 4 part mini series is focused on my time with
some very old and dear friends this era of my life was a wild one.
Take With Audio was a band that burned really hot and hard for a good run but inevitably
blew it self out however we did record a full length album together and though it never had an official release or
really saw the light of day we managed to give it a listen together on zoom for the first time.
it was a special moment for all of us and now i feel like we can bury the whole thing with the respect it deserves.

this 4 part series is going to focus on take with audio and the album we made.
i thought of editing all 4 interview and putting into one, but each view has its own importance
and it was really neat to see each individuals experience in their own words.
at the end of each episode you will hear a couple songs from the album

to kick off the series i talk to my very dear friend and longtime musical brother and collaborator

ok! Hey everyone!
This episode is with my good friend Nixon Boyd,
Today we are talking about a song of mine we worked on together called "dirty mirror"
Nixon is a very busy dude and constantly creating and helping all kinds of artists make their work come to life
He has been an active musician, writer and producer for quite some time now. i could have talked to him for days
about his work and accomplishments with his band Hollerado and a long list of so many others.

i consider my friendship with Nix to be a very special one because it developed very strong very quickly and before i knew it
we were recording music in his studio in the west end of toronto at banquet sound. i will have an additional episode to go along
with this song with none other than Nixons younger brother Jake Boyd who played drums on the same track!

I cant say enough great things about Nixon
it was not easy for me to rip apart my song and rebuild it with just anyone but Nix made it
a complete breeze i cant wait to work with him again. until then enjoy this episode and if you
