Bookwaves Special Pride Hour
Armistead Maupin: In honor of Pride Month, two interviews with Armistead Maupin, the first recorded in June, 2007, and the second recorded in January 2015, with host Richard Wolinsky.
Armistead Maupin is the author of the legendary "Tales of the City Series," which was later turned into four successful miniseries on television, and later a musical at ACT in San Francisco.
Following nearly twenty years since the previous book in his series, Armistead Maupin returned back to 28 Barbary Lane and its proprieter, Anna Madrigal, with "Michael Tolliver Lives" in the spring of 2007. In that interview, he talks about the history of "Tales of the City" and about his career as a writer.
In 2014, he ended the series with "The Days of Anna Madrigal," and the second interview was recorded in January 2015 when the book came out in trade paperback. In this interview he talks about his decision to end the series, as well as the ACT musical.
